MyHousing Instructions new student edition

You will get housing information via the Bloomsburg University email in October/November for Spring,
April/May for Summer or March/April for Fall, telling you how to get into your Apply Online and MyHousing.

Welcome to the Bloomsburg University campus housing experience!

Please refer to the student status description below that applies to you to see whether or not you are likely to receive campus housing and if so, when you should complete the online housing application (ApplyOnline) and personal profile (MyHousing).

The Summer Freshmen program gives new students the advantage of coming to campus early and taking classes, which helps in the transition from high school to college. This program begins during the summer and continues in the Spring semester. If you are accepted as an on-campus resident, we will plan on housing you for Summer and Spring unless you notify us otherwise. You will receive information in March/April regarding Summer housing and then again in November regarding Spring housing. When you return in the Spring, be prepared to also follow the instructions regarding the HOST process to secure housing for the upcoming Fall/Spring academic year. At that time, you will be considered a Returning student to go through the HOST process.

At that time, you will be considered a Returning student to go through the HOST process.
We recognize that New Freshmen students typically come to campus at the beginning of the Fall semester, however in some cases New Freshmen start in the Summer or Spring. If you are accepted as an on-campus resident, we will plan on housing you for whichever semester you are scheduled to start unless you notify us otherwise. You will receive information in March/April regarding Summer or Fall housing or in November regarding Spring housing. If you start in the Spring, be prepared to also follow the instructions regarding the HOST process to secure housing for the upcoming Fall/Spring academic year. At that time, you will be considered a Returning student to go through the HOST process.
Based on certain criteria, we may or may not be able to house International , Transfers or Returning Readmit students on-campus. We will contact you via BU email if campus housing becomes available for the semester you are accepted to begin. If you start in the Spring and we are able to house you on-campus, be prepared to follow the instructions regarding the HOST process to secure housing for the upcoming Fall/Spring academic year. At that time, you will be considered a Returning student to go through the HOST process.
Off-Campus and Commuter students wishing to obtain a dining plan need to go through the ApplyOnline and MyHousing processes in order to select their dining plan. Please see instructions below to being the process.

Please Note:

  • Please keep in mind that all Summer and Fall roommate requests must be submitted via MyHousing no later than June 1. Spring roommate requests must be submitted via MyHousing by December 15. Roommate requests will be honored whenever possible provided the requests are received by the deadline.
  • Air Conditioner requests must be submitted online by May 5 for Summer sessions I & II, June 1 for Summer session III, July 1 for Fall and January 1 for Spring.
  • Fall housing assignments will be available in MyHousing the first week of August. Spring housing assignments will be available in MyHousing the second week of January. Summer housing assignments will be available in MyHousing the second week of June.

Please remember that when submitting the on-line agreement, you are indicating that you understand the responsibilities that students undertake while they reside on campus.

MyHousing

Housing Assignments: Students can submit a roommate request for the spring semester via MyHousing but we may not be able to honor your request. We normally only have spaces in rooms with current students, not completely open rooms, to house new spring students. If we are not able to house you together in the same room, we will try to place you in the same residence hall.
