Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations worldwide through gift-filled shoe boxes. You can help a child experience the joys of Christmas by filling a gift box for a boy or girl between the ages of 2 and 14 and dropping it off at any Residence Hall Front Desk or at the Jessica Kozloff Community Center by Wednesday, November 11th at 7:00p. You can also make a $7.00 donation to sponsor a gift box via their website at www.samaritanspurse.org.

Spring 2010 Housing Release Update
We have determined that we will be able to release students from their on-campus housing agreement to move off-campus or commute for the Spring 2010 semester. This would include Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores and Summer Fall Freshman. However, please note, New Fall 2009 Freshman are not permitted to move off-campus for Spring 2010.
In addition, if you will not need your current on-campus housing for the Spring 2010 semester for one of the following reasons, please come to Residence Life and fill out a Housing Release Form as soon as possible:
- Graduating
- Withdrawing
- Transferring
- Completing an Internship
- Studying Abroad
- Student Teaching
- Leave of Absence
- Military Duty
Please remember that you are not released until you sign a housing release form. Release forms can be signed in the Residence Life Office from 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Important: If your reason for being released for Spring 2010 is to commute or move off-campus, you will not be permitted to participate in the HOST 2010/2011 sign-ups for next year's on campus housing. Simply stated you will not be permitted to move back on campus for the FALL 2010 semester.
7th Annual Breast Cancer 5K Walk/Run
The Office of Multicultural Affairs will sponsor their 7th Annual Breast Cancer 5K Walk/Run on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 1:00p. Costs are $20 for pre-registration by 10/16/2009 and $25 after the 16th. Please view the brochure/registration form on the Office of Multicultural Affairs Website for more information.
New Freshman De-tripling Process
Students who are tripled will be de-tripled (in date order) as spaces become available. This process usually begins after the second week of the semester once openings are confirmed. We assume all students wish to be de-tripled and your name will automatically be placed on the de-tripling list in the order your Admissions Deposit was received.
Students will be contacted when it is their turn to de-triple. We will let you know where the available space is and give you two days to decide if you want to de-triple and if so, who will move out. The available space could be with a new freshman or upper class student.
If you decide to de-triple, you will be required to sign a De-tripling Agreement and turn in your mailbox key and internet switch (if your room signed one out) before you can be given access and a mailbox key to the new room. If you decide that you do not want to de-triple, you will be required to sign a De-tripling Waiver, indicating that you were offered a space to de-triple into but have opted to stay tripled (voluntary triple).
The triple room rate credit will end when you are offered the opportunity to de-triple regardless of whether you accept the offer and de-triple or decline the offer and choose to stay tripled.
With the large number of freshman who are tripled, we will not be able to de-triple everyone during the Fall semester. We will begin the process again at the start of the Spring semester.
